Brighton and Hove Albion could move up to third in the Premier League if winning this game. They begin the weekend in fourth, three points behind visitors third placed Tottenham but with a game in hand. A win by a two-goal advantage is required for the Seagulls to climb above Tottenham. This is their first home game under their new manager whose side nearly pulled off a win at Liverpool last weekend. They led 2-0, trailed 3-2 but returned home with a 3-3 draw. There was a time when Brighton games used to low-scoring affairs. That's not been the case of late though with 13 goals scored in the last two Premier League games. Before the draw at Anfield, Brighton beat Leicester City 5-2 at home. They have won two of their three home league games this season, the other win being a 1-0 victory over Leeds United. Brighton have only lost one of their last 13 league and cup games with four of the last five at home being won. Four of the last five at the Amex Stadium have seen over 2.5 goals scored.
Tottenham come into this game having won only one of their last four games. Two of those were in the Champions League with an away loss to Sporting and a midweek draw in Frankfurt. They have scored 19 goals in the Premier League side (one of the few teams to have scored more goals than Erling Haaland). 10 goals have been conceded in their eight league games and three of those came in the loss at Arsenal last weekend. They certainly have the firepower to prosper against the Brighton defence that has conceded five goals in their last two league matches. Go for over 2.5 goals to be scored in this match.
