Brentford v Watford Betting Tips [10 December 2021]

Brentford will host fellow promoted side Watford in the first of the Premier League’s Round 15 matches on Friday. Both teams are seeking a stable run to their campaigns and Brentford go to the game placed 13th with 17 points while Watford are 17th on 13 points. It has been a tough run in recent matches for the two sides but Brentford will be the happier having collected five points in the last five matches, two more than Watford. Brentford will feel unlucky to have just taken a point off their game against Leeds United last time out. They came from down to lead 2-1 going into stoppage time but a late goal from Patrick Bamford sunk their hearts. It ended 2-2 and denied them a second win in six matches. Brentford have now scored in eight of their last 10 matches and will be gunning for more of that here though having just one clean sheet in 11 matches may hamper other plans.

In the race for promotion last season, Watford managed just one point against Brentford. The two met again in a preseason friendly and Brentford won; it traces back to 2015 Watford’s last competitive win over Brentford, in the Championship. Here they have a chance to get it right and after a tough run of five matches, they’ll look at this as a winnable game. Watford have faced Arsenal, Manchester United, Leicester City, Chelsea and Manchester City in the last five matches, and won only against United, while losing the other four. A key stat though, they’ve scored in each of the last four, twice against Leicester and four times against United. In attack they will be confident even with Ismaila Sarr injured. Emmanuel Dennis has done well, with three goals in the last four games and should be a man to watch here.

Watford are coming off a very tough run of games, and they should be able to do better here. They have been impressive in attack against very strong teams and Emmanuel Dennis has emerged as a key man for them. Brentford on the other hand, haven’t had quite tough matches but they have also had some consistency in scoring and their run against Watford will motivate them here. Back both teams to score.
