Bragantino v Velez Sarsfield Betting Tips [5 May 2022]

The Copa Libertadore group stages continue with matchday four when Argentine side Velez Sarsfield travel to Bragança Paulista to take on Brazilian side RB Bragantino at the Nabi Abi Chedid Stadium. The visitors have struggled on their travels this season and have posted a winless 0-3-3 record in the Primera Division while only managing to score one goal. Their performance in the Copa Libertadores hasn’t been much better as they lost 4-1 away to Estudiantes while drawing and losing their other two matches at home. They will be seeking a necessary three points and their first away win of the season when they meet up with a Bragantino side that can take a massive step towards qualification to the knockout stages with a win here. The Brazilians currently sit second in their Libertadores group with four points, equal with leaders Estudiantes and three points ahead of Velez who sit bottom of the group. 

Bragantino have been on an excellent run of form when playing at home and are unbeaten in 13 straight while also winning eight of their last 10. There is no reason to think that either side’s performance will suddenly change which presents us an opportunity to get some excellent value backing the hosts to win at the current price. Velez bounced back in the league with a 3-2 home win over Tigre on the weekend but the result won’t do much to remedy their away struggles. El Fortin last tasted away success almost a full six months ago in October of 2021 and are facing a team that hasn’t lost at home since November of 2021. It’s hard to look past the hosts at the current price and only one result looks to be on the cards here.

We’re going to back RB Bragantino to get the three points here and put themselves in a strong position to secure a top two finish in the group. Velez have had serious problems when playing away from home for a while now and a Bragantino side with some strong momentum should have no problems getting the victory. A 2-0 home victory is a likely result for the scoreline and Velez could struggle to get on the score sheet here.
