Bournemouth will welcome runaway leaders Liverpool to the Vitality stadium on Saturday afternon. The hosts are currently 12th in the league after a run of four straight defeats which includes a 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace in midweek. Palace were down to 10-men for close to 70 minutes with Mamadou Sakho being issued a red card in the first-half but Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth couldn’t capitalise and they now have just one win in nine matches.
At the opposite end of the spectrum Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have been steamrolling their way through the opposition and are on a six-game winning streak since a 1-1 draw away at Manchester United. Sadio Mane starred as they gunned down a defenceless Everton 5-2 on Wednesday and the pack was shuffled to give Mo Salah and Bobby Firmino a rest heading into a loaded schedule. Next stop is the south-coast and the Reds have lost just once in 15 meetings with the Cherries in their history. That was a 4-3 loss at this venue back in 2016 however, last season Liverpool ran out 3-0 winners in routine fashion at the Vitality Stadium before a 3-0 win at Anfield back in February.
The hosts have lost just once in their last six games at home in all competitions however, Liverpool have been victorious in six of their last seven road-trips in across three different tournaments taking their record this season outside of Liverpool to eight wins, one draw and one defeat.
Liverpool are now unbeaten in 32 league games which is the longest run in the club’s history and they have won four straight games versus this opposition without conceding. The last two meetings at the vitality Stadium have been 4-0 to Liverpool whereas at Anfield they have been 3-0 winners on the previous two occasions.
The home side’s record doesn’t suggest any sort of an upset here so I can’t see anything but an away win here and coupling the facts that Liverpool don’t' seem to be able to keep a clean sheet at this time and their recent record here I believe we will also see over 2.5 goals.
