Borussia Dortmund host Manchester City in the second leg of this Champions League quarter final. They trail City 2-1 from the first leg, so a 1-0 win would be enough to take them into the last four. There they'd meet the winner of the quarter final between PSG and Bayern Munich. This could be the last Champions League game that Dortmund play until 2022. They are seven points behind the final 2021/22 Champions League qualifying place. That's despite a 3-2 win at Stuttgart on Saturday thanks to an 80th minute winner. Both teams scoring in their games is becoming a rather regular occurrence, happening in six of their last seven games in all competitions. The first leg of this tie saw them nearly grab an unlikely draw. They had gone a goal down in the first half but equalized in the 84th minute. A late Phil Foden goal gave City their win. Dortmund have only won two of their last seven games and two out of five at home. In the Champions League, Dortmund have no losses in their last eight at home but the last two have both ended in score draws. They need more than that if they want to win this tie.
Manchester City lost at home to Leeds United at the weekend but didn't field anything like their strongest side. Of the players that started the first leg against Dortmund, only Ederson, Cancelo, Stones and Silva began the weekend Premier League. City know that one league defeat isn't going to hurt them too much in their march towards winning the Premier League. They know a goal in Dortmund will see their opponents needing to score twice to have any chance of survival. City have only failed to score once in their last 30 games and not since November have they failed to get one in an away game. In the Champions League this season, City have only failed to score in the away match at Porto in the group stages. Before the goal conceded in the first leg of this tie, only Porto had scored against them. Dortmund are good at home though and have some strong attacking players but keep conceding. Go for both teams to score in this match.
