An Aston Villa side in desperate form hosts West Ham in the Premier League on Sunday. The Hammers were fourth in the table going into matchday ten, with 17 points from nine games. Villa were 13th with ten points. The home club have lost their last three Premier League matches, the most recent being a limp 3-1 loss at Arsenal. The season started promisingly for Villa, who made several seemingly wise purchases with the money they received from Jack Grealish's sale. But they feel the loss of their star man and struggle to create as many chances as they did when he was pulling the strings. Villa average 3.7 shots on target, the fifth-worst record in the top flight. West Ham, by comparison, have 5.2, the fifth-best.
The Hammers are in tremendous form, only losing one of their last six games in all competitions. They have four wins in normal time in that series as well as a penalty shoot-out victory over Manchester City in the Carabao Cup, releasing the competition from City's stranglehold. They have been simply brilliant away from home. Presently unbeaten on the road, they have won five of their six away matches in all competitions, keeping clean sheets at Everton and Manchester United. They won 3-1 on their last visit to Villa Park and are unbeaten in four of their previous five trips there. Villa lost their unbeaten home record in bizarre circumstances when Wolves scored three goals after the 80th minute to win 3-2. If they fade like that against West Ham, they'll lose again. Back the away side draw no bet.
