Liverpool's run of three straight Premier League wins ended with a 1-1 draw against Tottenham on Saturday. That took them to the top of the table on goal difference but are likely to be overtaken by Manchester City on Sunday. If they do drop to second, then they will be out to return to top spot with a win at Aston Villa who were 11th after their win at Burnley on Saturday. The Reds have won 11 away league games this season with only a couple of losses. Five of their last six away Premier League matches have been won and just one of the last 11 have been lost. They have scored 41 away goals in the Premier League this season and in all but two of the last seven have scored at least twice. Liverpool won the reverse fixture 1-0 and will be out to banish the memories of last season's 7-2 loss at Villa Park.
Aston Villa are still in the hunt for a top ten finish in the Premier League. They are a point behind tenth placed Crystal Palace but do have a game in hand and host them on May 15. Villa are unbeaten in their last three Premier League games and won the last two. Those games were against relegated Norwich and Burnley who are in the bottom five. Six home league games have been won by Villa but seven lost. Two of the last three have been lost and in only two of their last five home Premier League matches have they got on the scoresheet. Liverpool will be all out to win this and can be backed to get a very valuable away win.
