Arminia Bielefeld host Borussia Dortmund in Match Week nine of the Bundesliga at the Bielefelder Alm. The hosts are seventeenth in the league stage, well inside the relegation zone while the visitors see themselves at second in the standings, just a point below league leaders Bayern Munich. Armenia Bielfeld come into the game with a 1-1 draw on the road against Augsburg. The hosts are winless so far in the Bundesliga and are on a very poor run of form. They are winless in their last eight fixtures across all competitions and also have failed to get a single win in their last five games at home. They have been defensively inconsistent but the real cause of concern for Frank Kramer’s men has been their attack. They have netted just four goals in the Bundesliga, which is the lowest in the division. Arminia Bielefeld also have poor head to head run of results against Borussia Dortmund. They have lost each of their last four matches to Borussia Dortmund and are yet to win a single game against the visiting side in their last seven fixtures.
Borussia Dortmund, on the contrary, are on a much finer run of form. They are at the opposite end of the Bundesliga standings and come into the game with a 4-0 loss to Ajax in the Champions League. The defeat to Ajax, though, does not really reflect the team’s run of form in the German top division. Marco Rose’ side eased past Mainz at home with a 3-1 win and are a free scoring side. They have netted twenty two goals so far in the Bundesliga, which is the second highest in the division, only behind league leaders Bayern Munich. Erling Haaland has been on a terrific scoring form and will be expected to score plenty against Arminia Bielefeld.
Arminia Bielefeld have struggled are winless so far in the Bundesliga and do not look like a side that can overcome Borussia Dortmund even at home. The visitors are a much stronger side on paper and are expected to ease past the hosts. We are backing Borussia Dortmund to lead at both half time and full time.
