Alavés v Barcelona Betting Tips [31 October 2020]

It has been quite a week for Barcelona after the resignation of their president Joesp Maria Bartomeu and his entire backroom team. The club hierarchy were ultimately driven out and the president left in a fairly tasteless manner. Nonetheless, the show must go on and the team put their differences aside as they beat Juventus in midweek with a brilliant performance.  

In La Liga the Blaugrana are 12th after five fixtures and an El Clasico defeat at home to Real Madrid last weekend. Alaves meanwhile, are level on points with Barca on seven but are 15th and have played two games more than their guests. The home side picked up their second win of the season with a 2-0 win away at Real Valladolid last weekend but they have won just one of their last eight home matches. That win came at the start of the month over Basque rivals Athletic Bilbao in a 1-0 victory for Pablo Machin’s men but I don’t expect them to repeat the trick here.  

Barcelona maybe going through a transitional and tumultuous which has found its way onto the pitch but their players should have too much for Alaves. Barca were beaten 1-0 away in Getafe in their last match on the road in La Liga but had gone on a four-game winning run away from home prior to that defeat. The club have won on each of their last six visits to this ground and are unbeaten away to Alaves since 2001.  

Barcelona put in their best performance under Koeman in midweek and I expect them to put Alaves t the sword here whilst keeping a clean sheet. Back a Barcelona win to-nil here.
