Second placed Rangers travel to Aberdeen who are third in the Scottish Premiership. It's the second game in charge for the new Rangers boss Michael Beale and the first was rather eventful. His new team had to come from behind twice to beat Hibs 3-2 at home. Rangers begin this match nine points behind leaders Celtic but 11 clear of their opponents. Anything less than a win here will be another blow to the chances of Rangers winning the Scottish Premiership. It's a case of keep winning and try to beat Celtic when the two sides meet at Ibrox on January 2. Rangers have won only three of their seven away league games with two draws and a couple of defeats. Only one point has been earned from the last two and with Celtic having won eight of their nine away league fixtures this season, Rangers have to get back into winning ways.
Aberdeen are third but only two points ahead of Livingston who are sixth in the table. The weekend saw them lose 1-0 at home to Celtic so they aren't having the easiest of fixture lists at present. They have lost three of their last five league games making it seven this season in the Scottish Premiership. Only one of their 16 league games has ended in a draw and they'd probably be delighted to get a second against Rangers. Home form has seen Aberdeen in good form though with six wins and two losses. They'd won six in a row before the loss to Celtic. There is a big gap between the top two and Aberdeen. Already this season Rangers have beaten Aberdeen 4-1 at home. Aberdeen have only won two out of eight on the road in the Scottish Premiership this season. It'll be tougher for Rangers to win this, go for under 2.5 goals in the game.
