Germany Portugal Tips 9th June 2012

Germany are the supposed favourites for Euro 2012, looking so good for so long but recent signs are they're feeling the pressure. The talent is there for all to see, that's for sure and in fairness, judging the German team by pre-tournament friendlies is historically foolish. 

It's an attack orientated side, even their centre backs are extremely comfortable on the ball and like to try and get forward. This is a good opportunity for Portugal though, whose personnel suggest they're most suited to being counter attacking against a team that prefer the ball. What the Portuguese have is a striker that epiromises on the break football and he's deadly, Cristiano Ronaldo. 

The Portuguese are OK defensively, they can be very good if their concentration span allows for it. This won't be a high scoring game in my opinion, don't be fooled how Portugal qualified for this but I think the German team will pull through, just as they always do, they're very talented up front and have a big game scorer and performer performer in captain, Klose.
